First Prize
Barbara Bronfman Prize - $20,000 Award
The OSM Competition First Prize is named in memory of Barbara Bronfman – a lover of music and dear patron of the OSM. Thanks to her legacy gift, generations of talented young musicians will be supported in the launch of their careers and provided with the opportunity to perform with the OSM for the first time.
OSM Invitation Prize
Offered by Canimex, invitations to perform in the OSM season: recitals, chamber music, or other engagements.
Michèle-Paré Prize
A residency at Orford Musique, during which the laureate will develop a community engagement project and receive mentorship to support and guide their efforts.
Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel Prize
A residency at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium for the 2026–2027 season, made possible through the support of Ms. Marina Gusti.
Concours musical international de Montréal Prize
In partnership with the Concours musical international de Montréal, the 2026 laureate will receive a pass granting them the opportunity to take part in the Piano 2027 edition of this internationally renowned competition.
This prize is subject to the invitation conditions in effect for the Competition’s participants, which will be held in Montreal from April 24 to May 5, 2027. It includes transportation, accommodation, as well as participation in this exceptional artistic experience.
Second Prize
$12,000 Award
This award is offered in collaboration with the Marjorie and Gerald Bronfman Fund and the Lambert-Fortier-Gagnon Estate.
Third Prize
$7,500 Award
This award is offered by the Paul-A. Fournier Fund.
Special Distinction Prizes and Awards
Ann Birks Career Development Award
This scholarship aims to support the career launch of the three prize winners beyond the Competition by offering performance opportunities with the OSM, scholarships for programs in Canada and abroad, and personalized professional coaching.
J.S. Bach Round Prize
$5,000 prize offered by Mrs. Dixi Lambert.
Prize for Best Interpretation of a Canadian Work
$3,500 prize offered by the OSM Volunteer association.
Orford Music Academy Prize
Three awards covering tuition and accommodation costs are offered to selected semi-finalists for a two-week advanced training residency at the Orford Music Academy.
Domaine Forget de Charlevoix International Music and Dance Academy Award
Three scholarships covering tuition and accommodation are offered among the semi-finalists for a two-week advanced training course at the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix International Academy of Music and Dance.
Stingray Rising Stars – Audience Award
Stingray is offering a $2,500 prize to the performer who receives the most online votes.
Fonds Les Amis de l’Art – Young Audience Award
The Fonds Les Amis de l’Art is offering a $2,500 prize to the performer who receives the most online votes from young audiences.
Semifinalists Prizes
The OSM Musicians Association offers $500 prizes to the semifinalists who did not reach the final round.
