Registration Requirements

1. Fill out the application form.

2. Within the form, please submit a single downloadable YouTube video link of your preliminary round recording. Your full name must be included in the file name.

3. In the form, please submit your application folder by providing a download link from OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox. Your application folder must include all the following elements:

  • A single PDF file of the scores, including only the solo parts, without annotations, of the pieces performed for the preliminary round. You must submit them as a single file containing all the pieces, with the titles prominently displayed and the scores arranged in order of performance.

    Attention! Your name must not appear on any of the scores.
    Please make sure to examine the headers and footers diligently when scanning from a school device to ensure that your name does not appear.

  • The complete list of repertoire and timings of works submitted for the three rounds of the Competition, formatted according to the writing guidelines of the OSM, using the repertoire submission template.
  • A high-resolution professional color headshot (minimum 300 DPI), approximately 15 cm X 20 cm, JPEG format. Photos taken with cellphones or webcams are not accepted.
  • Your biography, maximum 175 words, in both French and English versions, in a Word document.

4. Pay the application fees of one hundred and sixty Canadian dollars ($160 CAD) before May 23, 2024, at 11:59 PM (EDT). *

Preliminary round recording

  • Recordings that include orchestral accompaniment are not permitted.
  • It is allowed to record in separate takes the various works required, but the recording of each work must be made without editing between movements or parts of the same work.
  • Each take must be filmed with a single fixed camera (horizontally if using a phone or tablet) and the musician must take up as much space as possible in the frame. The candidate’s face, upper body and hands must always be visible.
  • The quality of the video recording can have an impact on the jury’s decision. It is recommended to use the most advanced human and technical resources available to ensure a high-quality recording.

* While it’s not mandatory to pay the application fees at the same time as submitting your application form, please ensure that the fees are paid before May 23, 2024, at 11:59 PM (EDT) for your application to be considered complete and valid.
