About Benjamin Kwong
Benjamin Kwong is a versatile Montreal-based pianist, vocal coach, music director, and educator whose work spans both classical and musical theatre domains. A dedicated choral pianist throughout his professional career, he currently collaborates with the Montreal Children’s Choir, the St-Lambert Choral Society, and Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom. His previous engagements include Les Muses, Coro Vivo, the Lyric Theatre Singers, and the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre.
As co-founder of Opéra da Camera, an independent opera company, Benjamin served as music director for productions of Le nozze di Figaro, Cendrillon, Hänsel und Gretel, and Così fan tutte. He also led an award-winning production of Cabaret with the Côte Saint-Luc Dramatic Society.
Benjamin’s artistic interests lie at the intersection of movement, music, and education. A dancer of Argentine tango, he is currently pursuing training in the Dalcroze Method. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance from McGill University, where he continues to serve as a staff pianist, working closely with students in the voice area.
