Canadian soprano Laura Nielsen is a native of London, Ontario. She holds a Master of Music after graduating in 2020 from the Yale School of Music’s opera program and is a laureate of the “Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques” Canadian young artists’ program.
Ms. Nielsen has performed in the operatic roles of Rosalba Montealbán in Florencia en el Amazonas, Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief, Cook in The Nightingale, Micaëla in Carmen and Soeur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites. In concert, Ms. Nielsen has appeared as a soloist in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, Poulenc’s Gloria and Handel’s Messiah.
Ms. Nielsen holds an Artist Diploma in Vocal Performance (2016) and an Honors Bachelor of Music with a minor in French Studies (2015) from the University of Western Ontario.
