About Justine Ledoux

Recognized for her “bewitching, velvety timbre” and her “mastery of the low and high notes that sublimate her art with captivating intensity” (Opera Canada), Quebec mezzo-soprano Justine Ledoux is artist-in-residence with the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal and a winner of the Jeunesses Musicales Canada Choquee-Symcox 2025 Prize.  

Upcoming projects include singing the role of Serena Joy (The Handmaid’s Tale) at the Ban Centre, Pastuchyna (Jenůfa), Mrs. Grose (The Turn of the Screw) and Carmen’s understudy at the  Opéra de Montréal. A Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques prizewinner, she recently performed at the Wartburg Palace Gala in Germany.  

She has recently interpreted Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Mrs. Nolan (The Medium), Wellgunde (Das Rheingold), Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro), Mercédès (Carmen), and was a soloist in Handel’s Messiah 

Trained at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, she pursues her studies with Lena Hellström-Färnlöf (Sweden), establishing herself as one of the rising stars of the Canadian opera scene.
