Praised for his “clarion tone” (Ludwig van Toronto) and “impressive vocal colour” (Opera Canada), Canadian-American baritone Geoffrey Schellenberg has recently performed in the roles of Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Marcello (La bohème), and Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia). He is a frequent performer in Western Canada, having recently appeared in productions by Vancouver Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. A graduate of Portland Opera’s Resident Artist Program (2018–2020), Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artist Development Program (2017–2018), Highlands Opera Studio (2019–2021) and the Music Academy of the West (2017), he is currently continuing his training with the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal. Geoffrey is also a winner of the 2020, 2019 and 2015 Western Canada District of the Met Competition.
